Have a heart — give today!
HEArt Online — the nation’s premiere journal of literature and art devoted to fighting discrimination and promoting social justice — has been bringing you the most powerful artistic work promoting social reform since August 2013 — all FREE to you, our valued subscribers.
As you probaably know, HEArt contributors donate their work and HEArt editors donate their time because we believe art has the power to change people, and people have the power to change the world. Our support comes from the people who love what we do.
Your gift allows us to annually renew our site, pay monthly submission and communication fees, hire consultants to extend our social media outreach and make our site accessible — and, most importantly, lay the ground work for paying contributors as well as out growing team of editors devoted to extending our culturally and sexually diverse reach.
Since August 2013, we have published new work/interviews with Fatimah Asghar, Jan Beatty, Jericho Brown, Chen Chen, Tameka Cage Conley, Curtis Crisler, Jim Daniels, Toi Derricotte, Denise Duhamel, Vanessa German, Nikki Giovanni, Saeed Jones, Allison Joseph, Terrance Hayes, Erika Meitner, Hieu Minh Nguyen, Alicia Ostriker, Sam Sax, Tim Seibles, Danez Smith, Patricia Smith, Stacey Waite, Patricia Jabbeh Wesley and so many other great emerging and established artists.
But we can't do it on our own. We are a community of artists and activists.
Your donation is also tax-deductible. We recently applied for and received our legal 501(c)3 status, so we will email you a receipt with confirmation of your donation and our tax ID.
